Should I get a giant rabbit?

I had a call from my brother who was working at a house today and family are moving and want to give their giant rabbit away. He is 2.5 years old and sleeps indoors although is left outside in pen, shed and garden most of the day. I haven't got a house bit enough to take his cage but do have a big secure garden (70ft long and 20ft wide). Will he get accustomed to living outside if I have a raised hutch kept warm for him in winter? I am thinking I could bring him in on really cold nights in the cage I would buy from the current owner. Both my partner and I work 9-5 but I would dedicate time to spend with him every evening. I welcome any thoughts/advice on this matter! thank you!!
