My boyfriend wants to wear a bowtie for prom?

Honestly i've never liked bow ties, and i think a man in a suit and regular tie is so y. but a bow tie ? My boyfriend is so excited to buy a bow tie and wear it to my prom. he just graduated so i'm brining him to mine, but any who. What should i do? Should i tell him how i really feel even though hes sooo excited? Or should i suck it up? What are your guys opinions on bow ties?
