Bath tub drain question? any help appreciated.?

our bath tub will not drain any water at all. at first it was just being slow, now it has come to a complete stop. I have looked up different techniques online, like the coat hanger thing, and I even used the plunger on it too. Our toilet is also having problems in there. Is this a problem with the pipes or could it just be a clog? It's very frustrating, and I can't bale out every last ounce of dirty water from that tub.
